A couple months ago Rick and I met Steve Simmons of Rio Sandia Morgans at the Albuquerque The Magazine Wedding Showcase.  I love horses so naturally I was interested in his company and, as luck would have it, we both operate out of Corrales.  Turns out Steve has a wonderful driving horse; a black Morgan mare named Star.  I can tell you from experience that few things add to the romance and ambiance of a wedding or just spice up a warm summer evening like a carriage ride for two and the clip-clop of little horse feet.  We wanted to help Steve out with some images to promote his business so, working together, we assembled this amazing promo shoot at Los Poblanos Inn. Folks, let me tell you, if you’ve never been to Los Poblanos you are missing out!  To all you brides and grooms out there who are looking for an outdoor venue right here in Albuquerque Los Poblanos is a must see!  Anyway, I digress…  Steve and Star are available for weddings, marriage proposals, and private carriage rides for all occasions!

A few weeks ago Andrea called me to schedule this session. Like many of our clients Andrea and Caleb are friends with our friends Caitelen and Greg, although I didn’t know it at the time.  Shortly after Andrea called, Rick and I had gone to dinner with Caitelen and Greg and Greg proceeded to tell us all about his friend Caleb….  Small world huh?  Anyway Andrea and Caleb are lovely, as you can see.  When we first started the session Caleb says “you’re going to tell us what to do, right, because we’re not models.”  Ironically, I barely told them to do anything.  They’re naturals

You’ve all met Heidi and Keith before in their Engagement Session.  Their wedding is coming up in a couple weeks but recently I received an email from Heidi saying “I want mountain pictures”.  The ceremony and reception are all at the same place in the valley and there would be no way to tactfully leave long enough to drive up to Elena Gallegos and shoot these photos on the actual wedding day so we decided to do a “Pre-wedding Romantics” session.  I really enjoy these sessions because there is no pressure and no timeline.  No one is waiting on us so we can run all over Elena Gallegos and take as long as we want.  The sunset was beautiful and we stood in the parking lot talking until the rangers started driving by to see if it was safe to lock the gates.

Here’s a little story for you.  I first met Andi at a very crowded Bridal Fair at the Sandia Casino.  I saw her out of the corner of my eye trying to get up to the Dry Heat booth but it was crowded 2 and 3 people deep most of the way around.  I don’t know why, exactly, but when I saw her I thought to myself “I have to shoot her wedding” so I went out and invited her to come sit down in the booth.  Turns out Andi and Rob were getting married in June at the Hyatt Tamaya and we all hit it off just great.  I suppose you could say “the rest is history”.  I shot their Engagement Session in Old Town on May 1st.

You’ve all seen Jennifer with Emmanuel in their Engagement Session and now here’s Part 2 – The Bridal Session.  I shot this session on April 15th at the Convent at El Zocalo and, as you can see, Jennifer looks amazing!

I had the chance to photograph RuthAnn a couple of weeks ago.  Senior portraits are so much fun, we had a blast.  We started in the studio and then headed downtown.  I always like shooting downtown, I dig the gritty urban look, (although I could do with out the panhandlers).

RuthAnn asked me to design graduation party announcements for her, something I have never done but what the heck, I’m always up for a new challenge.  I like doing the graphic design work, I figured this would be pretty cool.   So with a little input from RuthAnn, we nailed down this design.  I think the hot pink zebra stripes knocked this card out of the park.

Kristina is really on a roll this week!  She photographed Marisa and Gilbert’s Engagement Session at the Bio Park on April 3rd.  Marisa and Gilbert will be getting married in June at the San Clemente Church.
