Andrea – The Bridal Session

4 July 2010

Happy 4th of July everyone!  I got up early this morning to continue working on the blog and this morning’s entry is Andrea’s bridal session from May 18th.  I was very excited to shoot this session at the First Presbyterian Church here in Albuquerque.  Constructed in 1954, this is one of the few remaining churches to maintain that majestic look and feel that I remember from attending church as a kid.  It has the huge stained glass windows, the ornate alter, the red carpet; everything that is reminiscent of church architecture from that time period.  Sadly, there are not very many churches like this left in Albuquerque so I felt it was a rare opportunity to be able to use this place as my own personal photo studio for an afternoon.  What a treat!  In addition, Andrea possesses a classic beauty that, coupled with the location, really created a perfect storm of sorts.  I don’t always say as much because it would start to sound redundant but I’m pretty sure that Dry Heat Photography has the most beautiful brides.  Hands down, our clients are the best and I would like to thank all of you for giving us an opportunity to do this amazing job.  :-)

Incidentally, you’ve all met Andrea before in her Engagement Session with Caleb last summer at Elena Gallegos Open Space.

Promo shoot for new local bridal magazine

24 May 2010

Recently, a friend of ours who will soon publishing a new local bridal magazine (the details of which are still confidential),  asked us to shoot some promotional photos to support the new publication.  The first of this series of sessions was on April 22nd at the Albuquerque Museum.  Our model was the gorgeous Jessica Augustin.  Dresses were provided by Bridal Elegance By Darlene and the exquisite jewelry is handmade by Carolyn Pollack.

Thank you to everyone who donated their time, goods and services to make this session possible.

Rebecca and Matt :: Mobile Uploads

20 December 2009

Here are a few teaser shots from our session today with Rebecca and Matt.

This session is sort of a test as I just figured out how to update the blog from my phone.  Is there anything this iPhone won’t do? Oh yeah, it kinda sucks for making calls.  Anyhow, thanks for viewing and  congratulations to Rebecca and Matt, we had a great time shooting today.

Jennifer Warner – The Bridal Session

4 July 2009

You’ve all seen Jennifer before in her Engagement Session with Derek last fall.  On June 10th I shot her bridal session in Old Town.  This was actually the first bridal session we’ve done in Old Town and I was quite pleased with it!  While we were shooting this session Jennifer’s mom reminded me that we had first her at the 2008 Zia Classic Arabian Horse Show. She had been an exhibitor in the event and had come over to our booth to find out about our wedding services because her daughter was getting married.  I had completely forgotten about that because Jenn had handled everything else.  At their Engagement Session I realized that I knew Derek from my brief stint in the UNM Music Education program circa 1994 and at the wedding I realized I knew about half the guests.  Apparently it IS a small world after all!

The wedding itself was on June 20th at Paako Ridge Golf Course.  Keep an eye out for it!
