In the portrait studio with Albuquerque’s Poet Laureate, Hakim Bellamy

7 November 2012

Although this session was supposed to be of Hakim, we got a little distracted by his son.  Well, what can we say? He’s cute! :)

Special thanks to our friends Amy Parish and Shastyn Friedman for letting us set up camp in their their very own, Studio 3!

Corporate Headshots in the Albuquerque desert with Jared

18 August 2012

Jared owns a company called Sage Technology Partners.  When I spoke to him on the phone for the first time, he explained to me that he dislikes being photographed but that his PR agent (1680PR of course!) would not allow him to use a cartoon for his LinkedIN profile picture.  As the conversation continued we pinpointed the problem;  Jared doesn’t like boring corporate headshots! He didn’t want to sit in front of a studio backdrop, he didn’t want to go to the studio at all.  He also said something that made me smile, he said “my agent says you’re a miracle worker!”  Well Jared, flattery will get you everywhere. ;)

We shot this session at Elena Gallegos Open Space and everyone was pleased with the results!

Business Headshots at Jazzbah with 1680PR

16 March 2012

Dry Heat Photography has had a longstanding relationship with our friends and colleagues at 1680PR.  A couple years ago we photographed 1680 CEO and NCE Vetted Expert, Ken Lingad, at our Corrales studio and last week he brought us in to photograph his PR team at Albuquerque’s finest wine and jazz bar, Jazzbah. As you can see, we have a lot of fun together!
