Diane, Peter, Corey & Zoey

18 November 2009

I’ll start this entry off by saying, “welcome back.”, I say this for a few reasons;

1. I’m back, I’m actually here blogging rather than just working in the top-secret lab.  Dry Heat has big things in store for 2010, we’ve been like little mad scientists developing our new creations.

2. I welcome back Diane and Peter.  I meet Diane and Peter about 3 years ago when I photographed their wedding.  The world of social networking is such a wonderful way to reconnect.  It’s great to see these two again.  Their wedding was one that really stood out, I had so much fun with them and their family, truly great people.

3. Welcome back autumn.  I love fall in New Mexico, Balloon Fiesta, snow on the Sandia’s, chili roasting in parking lots and the spectacular colors in the bosque.  Diane, Peter, Corey and Zoey’s session in the bosque really seemed to capture New Mexico’s autumn.  A special thanks to Diane and Peter and their well-behaved dogs.  We made it through the entire session before any dogs made it in to the water.

This family is made up of quite the entertaining lot of people, as you will see.  I shot this Engagement Session on June 21, 2009 and have actually already shot their wedding which was just a couple weeks ago at the Hyatt Tamaya.  For everyone who is wondering why we haven’t updated the blog in several weeks -Lots of time spent shooting equals less time for blogging but fear not loyal blog readers, there is MUCH MORE to come!

Introducing Sonya and Jay

15 June 2009

sonya3
I shot Sonya and Jay’s Engagement Session on May 28th. Originally we had planned to shoot in our usual Bosque spot but due to some unfortunate circumstances that day the Bosque was closed from Bernalillo to Los Lunas. So we decided to head out and pretty much wing it. First stop – the Coronado Grill in Bernalillo. There is a small amount of Bosque access behind the restaurant so we snuck back there for a few minutes before deciding to head over to the Coronado Monument. We ended up in the camp ground area where we had the most spectacular view of the mountains! Special thanks to Angela Gaeto for answering all my panicked phone calls that sounded like Me“Angela, the Bosque is closed how do I get to Coronado Monument?” Angela “what time is your session?” Me “Right Now!!!” As you can see, it all worked out great! Sonya and Jay will be getting married later this month.

Introducing Taylor and Cameron

26 March 2009

0114rsb

I shot Taylor and Cameron’s engagement photos in the bosque a couple weeks back.  It’s still such a great place to shoot.  There are also a couple images from a session we did at El Zocalo.  Cameron brought his motorcycle to El Zocalo, unfortunately it started to sprinkle as we were doing the shots with the bike.   At least it cleared up by the time he had to ride back, riding a motorcycle in the rain is such a drag.

Thanks a lot you two, I’m looking forward to the wedding.

Introducing Vanessa and Stephen.

11 March 2009

Yet another wonderful session in the bosque and another wonderful couple.  This has been an absolutely perfect winter, we have been able to shoot almost every session outdoors. I have grown quite partial to the bosque, (as if you couldn’t tell).  It’s just one of those amazing places all year round.  I found out that Vanessa is just getting into photography.  I think that is so freakin’ cool, I really hope she develops as strong a passion for photography as I have.  I love seeing people getting into it, it reminds me of my early days shooting and how inspiring it is.  Still to this day I am inspired every time I get behind a camera.  Good luck with the shooting, Vanessa, I hope you have fun.

Vanessa and Stephen are getting married in August, let’s hope things green up outdoors by then.

Thanks a lot you two, I had a great time,

Yeah, I really dig this one.  I got a bit kookey on the Photoshop but it all came together just right. 0023trsb0042trsb0053trsb0092rsb

I like the classic old feel of this one.  0099rsb0135trsb0142tprsb

I was really drawn to the old sunflower stalks. 0160rsb

Thanks again you two. dhplogo16

Introducing Iphigenia and Keith

28 February 2009

iphen1blog

Iphigenia and Keith are good friends with Elizabeth and Arlen. I just love it when a client tells me they were referred by a previous client! That means things are working out the way they are supposed to ;-) Iphigenia and Keith are getting married in March at the UNM Alumni Chapel. This session was shot February 21st.  Iphigenia is from Cape Town South Africa and her accent is just delightful.

Introducing Jennifer and Emmanuel

12 February 2009

jen1

Someday I’m actually going to get completely caught up on the blog. I don’t know what day exactly…. but I’m trying. I shot Jennifer and Emmanuel’s Engagement Session on January 2nd and their wedding is coming up in April. I can’t believe how warm it has been this winter. There has only been a handful of days where it was too cold to shoot outside.  As you can see in these photos Jennifer is actually wearing a short sleeved shirt and the Bosque still looks pretty nice.

Introducing Jennifer and Derek

3 December 2008

jenniferwarner1

Up until this session I had never actually met Derek, I had only met with Jennifer. Right after Derek introduced himself I realized that we had taken some classes together at UNM when we were both music majors. Ironically, Derek and Jennifer are both music teachers now. I later discovered that I was a better photographer than musician. Anyway, this session was at the Alameda Open Space on October 12th. Jennifer and Derek will be getting married next summer at Paako Ridge Golf Course.
